Try These Fun Creative Projects

If you are looking for a book to give inspiration for creative projects, “Make It Yours,” is the book you need. There are many easy to follow projects that will help you bring personal touches throughout your home. “Make It Yours” by Christine Schmidt, will teach you how to print, stamp, stencil, and dye.

Each project is accompanied by a color photograph of the finished project. Also, for each project, there is, the time involved, the level of difficulty, “what you will learn,” a materials list and step by step instructions. Even someone with no previous experience can complete the projects.

There are numerous projects which include: abstract painted scarf, recipe cards, monogram leather clutch, fondant decorations, roll stamp table linens, custom monogram, stamped Moorish tiles and dry iron-on applique. Everyone with any level of experience will find a project to suit them.

There is a complete section with stencils and templates to trace. One of my favorite sections is Appendix A. I am a novice when it comes to these projects, but, Appendix A takes care of that! It goes into detail about the supplies by techniques. For example, one project I like called for an inking plate. I imagined I would go to the local craft store and pick one up. The author suggests using a clean baking sheet that you can buy at a thrift store! This section discusses what fabrics to use and the factors to consider when choosing the fabric.

You will want to stop what you are doing, get some materials and have some fun doing these diverse creative projects.
